NABI – The Biblical Prophet A hanging artwork with vertically stretched optical fibers. The luminous drawing of the face is created by disrupting the fibers. With this piece, I aim to highlight that biblical prophets are perceived as bearers of light, illuminating the scriptures. Optical fiber is one of the fastest mediums for transmitting information from one point to another. In this work, I see an analogy to the transmission and passing on of knowledge—connecting the time of the prophets with the present. The flow of data through light symbolizes the divine light that a prophet receives in his life, which dwells within him, and which he then passes on to others.
